No word from the coyote killer today. Must be catching a nap I guess I'll have to call him.
Made the call.
9 coyotes and 4 coon
It's been hard cold rolling Into this new ground. But he did pick up a paying job so that will help with the over head. Has out about 100 sets and has a student from WI with him. Beav, better make the call. Last I heard today was 9 + a cat + a coon & snow on the way

Update 3 coyotes and a coon.
Like EB said about chains and Ice. 1/2" of ice with 3" of wet snow over the Ice. Got up to 40 Deg and now he has standing water. Looks like It's going to take 2 days to get things worked out.
Most trappers In this day and age don't have chains or have never seen a set. If It gets that bad I'm just going to sit by the fire. LOL

1" pvc behind them dirtholes is a wonderful thing when it is going from froze to standing water. Well If you have a thawed trap bed with standing water all mudded In. I don't see why a coyote Is going to work that set. So are you saying not to remake the set just stick a piece of PVC behind the flooded dirt hole.

update
8 coyotes today.
Still chained up. Roads are still bad and access Is bad with all the mud. And from what Robert said the up coming weather Is calling for 4 or 5 days with snow and low temps. Sometimes you just have to take the good with the bad. Trapping Isn't easy.

When I talked to him he didn't know If most of them were worth skinning since they were one big mud ball. Like he said toss them In feed sack and worry about It later.
