Sorry to veer off your thread but is the course in-person only?? I’m sure that’s the best way to learn anyway but I was just wondering.
Good for you; it’s a feather in your cap to be certified.

You gotta pay? Is it worth it il pay for it because I know people say you will never look at a foothold again with snares

The CR Certification courses are mandatory if you want to trap using CR's.. You can take them online or in-person. I recommend in-person. In-person classes are less expensive than online too.

Online classes cost $34.50. Most in-person classes are $15.00.

You won't get the same education as you would in-person with a knowledgeable instructor.

I took mine at John Epler's place (Epler Fur Company). We spent several hours in the field hanging CR's and learning the do's, don't's and different techniques to improve our success.

This has changed.

The cr I was given at the class had
the lock backwards.
When I told the instructors the
one argued then got cranky.

Lug, ask John E about the skinny fox boards
per the other post. He knows.

I would take a snaring course in person in a heartbeat. I'm sure you'd learn to set snares in places you never even thought of otherwise.

John didn't like my reds stretched on the NAFA boards, he wanted them on narrower boards. He liked my coon on NAFA boards though.

For a few years I sold my coon to John and red fox to Dave Rodgers who didn't seem to mind the wider boards.

So does PA have a cable restraint class.......in person or online......you can actually sign up for and take?

MO has same requirement, but as near as I can tell.......no classes. Not sure where that leaves us. Or what kind of imperial entanglements you get yourself into if you set one......no class.

You'll get a lot more out of an in-person course. The internet is a great tool for teaching facts; but not so much the nuances of technique.

In my opinion, on line course for trapping shouldn’t exist.
