Picked up a bottle of Backbreaker from Minnesota Trapline Supply as a changeup over my home made lure. First check today and out of 24 traps I caught 17 beaver a mink and a coon. That little jon boat ain't meant to navigate a big mean river like the Willamette with over 600 lbs of critters in it! Paul, you got a darn good beaver lure there! Had a couple of sprung traps too, so I only had three traps that didn't at least get messed with last night.

White, that was the tip of the upright to my boat trailer. I didn't get out of the water until dark or I would have posed that pile of beaver a little better.
Plus I had a bs session about trapping with a duck hunter that took some time. He kind of surprised me when he asked if I was "Beaverpeeler". Yes says I...how did you know? Turns out he had seen the youtube video of my clean skinning a couple of years back.
Small world.

There are some steelhead in the Willamette and its tributaries but the coastal streams like the Nehalem, Alsea and the Siletz get the most attention from the diehards. During the late winter runs I can't trap those streams because of all the steelhead fishermen.

What size is your little johnboat Beaverpeeler ? I know you've posted it before. My little 14' v-hull wouldn't hold that many I don't think. And mine is 46' wide at the stern.
