I started closing the s-hook on one eye just snug enough so it doesn't fall off. It hooks into the other side by wiggling the legs back and forth. I bought new MTP 280 stands with a gift certificate and now they are pre-bent to just hook into one another

I either set the truly square concrete edges well under the road or out on bank features. The little points or knobs seem to do better with otter, but I've caught more rats and mink on sheer bank BE sets. I have not caught much of any fur on the wings

I agree its hard to picture but I have a blast. It has been a lot of trial and error

Sometimes there are metal rods that are exposed and make a good anchor with an extension cable. I'm at the point now where I over-anchor everything, even the mink traps.

I am a pro at checking empty sets! It has taken a long time to figure out those good BE spots that always produce

Man that's awesome. Nice catches and what a beautiful place and water.

I need to find a trapping vehicle that gets about 60 MPG and has an onboard coffee maker... cool

Keep your boots dry and your powder too.

I remember when a fur check was reality.....now I'm just trapping for the love of it.

Best Regards,

JT

Great pics, nice catches. Agree on the bottom edge set being rewarding. Well done.

Haha yes I've talked to him. He's envious of what you're doing here on the water and with your put-up. Great job! Beautiful looking animals.

Nice! One of my favorite sets for otter on a free stone waterway. Anything that swims in the water can be taken in a BE set.
