Funny story. Those sets were made last Sunday afternoon. Had one Tuesday morning. While removing the coyote Tuesday in a snow storm he mentioned Daisy was going to step in the other set if she didn’t watch out. I reached down and grabbed her collar. I moved my right foot 2” south and it went off. Daisy was 9-10 inches from it. He re-set it and put some peat on it. Got this text Wednesday morning.

Robert was at 893 and has 7 in the truck as of 10:15 EST today

I have no doubt if he hadn't run into the problems up north he would have broken 1000 by now. Iron man!

Buying fur in that area this weekend, starting to bunch up and the weathers going to cooperate, he could get to 1000 if he wanted but quality is going down hill and will probably deteriorate fast now.

900 up to date caught the 900 th coyote In a tricked out #4 victor. The trap Is back In action but Is been marked to be auctioned off.

So how many does he catch on a normal year?
Sorta makes reading about those that pull traps to “leave seed” seem like they’re just tired of trapping, lol.

Not to take anything from Robert. But you need coyotes to put up those numbers. 10 Roberts couldn't put up those numbers around here.

If you don't have coyotes you can't catch them.

Yes it's all about work ethics. Up at 3:30 each morning work till dark then skin the catch.

But It's the pre season work that gets you a head start. A lot of this ground he was cold rolling on and that will set you back a few days.

Up date 15 coyotes today. Pulling traps on Tues and Wed be gone on Thur.

Don’t think he’s giving up. He’s just not going to take coyotes that he can’t skin. He’d probably surpass 1K if he kept on.
