Not worth wasting the resource if they're worthless. I don't think he's worried about any title at this point in the game. He's already established this as one of, if not the best, coyote single season catch ever.
57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

He does ADC trapping too, doesn't he? A lot of the ones hes been catching all along. with mange and rubs are worthless- Im sure he knew about those going in...... And Im sorry, by title I meant his GOAL of 1000.

Where can I sign up for his "Coyote" school which is probably in the planning stages. Best bet is to see if he has time for on the line instruction. Quite a few have ridden along on it this year. All his contact info is on the top of the page at: https://onemansquestforathousandcoyotes.blogspot.com/?m=1Otherwise find him at the National FTA convention. He is giving demos, tailgating and a number of other things.

If we have a coyote market next year, he will skip the 1000 and aim higher I am sure!

Just got home from buying down there, lots of good coyotes left but first trip I have seen hip damage so starting to go down hill. If not for other obligations he’d have his 1000 by this time next week and still have a lot of good coyotes

He told me If things go well next year as to weather and now that he knows more about the land he's now trapping he should be able to do 1500. In fact he has land owners calling wanting him to trap their land but he just doesn't have time. He also said snares will most likely be used next year.
I asked about other years and his total numbers and he said He just never kept track. But 400 coyotes seasons were pretty common. And he hasn't kept track of doubles and triples on the line. He only moves the trap out of the catch circle If the set Is to hard to remake.
As to lessons I believe he only does on the line lessons. He did say he would be In New Mexico some time In late March or April doing ADC coyote work. So if your from that area you may want to give him a shout. I talked to his last student and he was very impressed with Robert.

Robert has 8 in the truck and as I was talking to him he pulled up on another one so It sounds like he has 9. He has about 50 sets to check and Is pulling as he goes. He's telling me that he may have stayed to long some of these coyotes he's caught today aren't worth skinning.
