I saw on Fox news that Virginia Democrats advanced a bill banning some semi-auto guns and possession of high capacity magazines yesterday. (Friday)
I didn't catch weather it was the house or senate, but it's coming!!!!

They (dems) don't need to negotiate, they will pass on party line votes like this passed.

This is what the people of Virginia wanted. They voted Democrat, so it's a win for the people. I just hope WI never goes this way. It could. It's scary.

I was doing some reading on it yesterday after it passed. My understanding it passed 12 to 9 on the floor. Still a couple more steps, but it’s a scary situation for everyone. I’ve also read a couple different versions. One grandfathered semi autos, silencers and standard ar magazines along with other mags. Another version I read said current owners have a year to get rid of what they have.

I don’t know what I can and can’t say here, but I’m a member of gun owners of America for a reason. They really do a great job being a voice for gun owners like myself, and fighting that weasel that is just buying everyone off to get what he wants.

Yep, NRA just said they dropped the semi registration but kept the magazine ban on high capacity. It was 12-9 vote.

Goes to house now.

Yup, we could get Railroaded, But it couldn't happen without the support of even some fine members right here.

I have to disagree, you ask 100 people the difference between a Dem & Rep and I bet 70% could not tell you the difference. JMO

Getting There. That's their fault if that's true. People need to hold themselves accountable and educate themselves before they vote. Not just go off what they hear on tv.

I have to agree, just getting people to vote is a big problem!! So do you think what is going on in VA is right?

NO

But YES to this:

Constitutional studies should be MANDATORY for all in order to graduate and VOTE with refresher courses at an absolute minimum every 8 years,

TAX CREDIT for those taking refresher every 4 years, preferably BEFORE the elections....

When I was in adult ed. our teacher told us we were going to study government, and she said. We are going to learn how our government it set up, not how it is run today and it is not open for discussion. I tell you right now politics is a dirty rotten job. You have to be able to sell your sole every day.

Our civics teachers and the following POD (Problems of Democracy: note this was not ANTI democracy but spoke to what we are discussing here) teachers were passionate about this subject.

It's obvious to me that the lack of education now, particularly relating to the constitution being THE LAW OF THE LAND, is not an accident.

I'm not one for big government or heavy handed controlling of We the People at all but I definitely support this as a mandate via legislation and passing into law.

No one is taking my rights away without following constitutional law and I'M RIGHT in standing for that....no matter how scared or confused "others" may be...

If you don't love and support this land of liberty, our constitution and grand experiment, PLEASE go find another place to live.

I'm not willing to part with this place at all, no compromise, no concessions, no meet half way.

Man up, stand up, and fight back if necessary. These confused idiots cannot even understand what brought them into a place that even allows them to act in the manners that they do.

My family came here from Europe just two generations ago. ALL of them learned English and became tax paying, and voting citizens.

WAY over half of the males have served her in the armed forces in no less than five wars (and other actions)

My Father, Army....My older brother, Marines.....Me, Army.....BOTH of my sons, Army.

The list is too long to go further but it continues....we have our hearts and very souls, not to mention the scars, invested in the grand experiment!

Love her or GET OUT! Period!

That's exactly how I feel about it. If they can manage to amend the Constitution, I'll abide by that but nothing short of it. This isn't about crime, this is about control. Look at the freaks who would lord it over us.

Why would a public (government funded) school want to do that? The elites are trying to dismantle the country so that's the last thing that will happen.
