"In the event of product replacement, your appliance will be warranted for remaining term of the original unit’s warranty period."

So, if you buy a new machine , and have been having the repairman come back and forth, to keep fixing the machine for the past 6 Months, if the machine has a 1 year warranty, and they replace it with a brand new machine that has a 1 year warranty; does that mean that the 1 year warranty on the brand new replacement machine gets reduced to just 6 Months???

Yep that's exactly what it means. Very common.

Keeps people from breaking something to get a new machine every so often just before the warranty runs out.

Yep, I think all warranties, for all sorts of products, are like this. Other than lifetime warranties of course. And many of those have limitations.

Everyone knows you can’t have lifetime warranty and made in China on the same product.

Water heaters! Bought one with a five year warranty rusted out in about 3 or 4 years. Got a free replacement. That one rusted out in about 3 years. No warranty. Bought the next one, big surprise it rusted out just before the warranty was up. The manufacturer didn't want to honor their warranty because I had a free warranty replacement in the past. Even though I had paid full cost of the currently rusted out unit. Eventually did get it warranted. Had to mention the cost of a flooded basement and getting lawyer and insurance company involved.
