I had a copy of that single shot about 15 year ago, sold it to a friend. It had a very hair trigger, and if the hammer slipped out from under your thumb while cocking it, it would fire. There was no half (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) to catch it, wasn't a very safe pistol.
I really like single shots, I have a rolling block in 50-70.

Mine is a model 41 its a small derringer like thing 3.5 in. barrel 22 short it has a half rooster notch and 1 1/2 fat finger grips no triggerguard but there is a spur where the trigger fits in neat little gun for show and tell not much else the target models as you pictured come with enlarged grips adjustable sites some evan with a "globe" front site 6, 8, 10 and maybe 12 in. barrels Don't have any production dates handy but these were popular when the 22 was loaded with black powder (Low Pressure) I shoot mine with cb shorts
AS they were intended for target shooting they are accurate with good triggers
Contenders are the closest modern gun made in terms of quality that I know of mine has a 10 in. octagon 22 lr. and several other barrels However /if your interested in a little history and can find a tip-up in good condition for under 400 you wont be disappointed Just use it wisely

I dont care for the contender in a 22 , dont take me wrong i would like one in a 35 remington or 223 . Just way more weight than needed.
