Using this for coon bait? We bought some this summer and didn't catch fish so we threw it under the shed. Now I'm wondering if I could use it for bait because it smells pretty bad.

Try it, the worst thing that could happen is you catch nothing.

Is there any worry about it possibly scaring it off? I wouldn't think so but I don't know much

Smells bad?? Skunk an Possum prolly wont let a coon get near it At least its not under your shed anymore

Well it's stink bait I expect it to smell bad I was just trying to get to that it has more smell than what I'm using now

If it's in the right spot, you can dig a hole, put a trap on front of it and catch your target species
Trick is finding the right spot, lure or bait narrows that gap. That catfish bait will work just fine

Ok I found some tracks at a pond made a Dirthole placed a #2 longspring in front and put corn in the hole but was wanting to put this in the hole tomorrow

You might catch cats

I wouldn't use the recommended #4 treble hook

Thats a guaranteed tripped trap in the morning. Our deer love corn, even in a hole!

Yea ours do too I'm waiting on it but haven't had one snapped yet this year.

Ik from experience that doesn't feel good had a treble hook stuck up to the bend in the bottom of my tongue.y tongue didn't really hurt that bad and my cousin and I laughed for 10 minutes before we went and got help but my pride took a big hit walking into the emergency room with a fishing lure stuck in your tongue

I baited a set with it that had coon tracks around it on the edge of a pond so we will see what happens
