Poked around with a lath in the mud setting for rats for a landowner in a big pond with a small open area at the spillway pipe last month, here come a frog swimming along.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

We still have ice every where! It is 19 degrees right now with a 17 mph wind. Feels like 8 degrees.

Watched frogs swimming under ice many times. When they start singing, then I think of Spring.

It's pretty common to hear spring peepers here in Late Feb or early March if there's a warm spell. They tuck back in when it gets cold again.

Heard the peepers a couple of evenings ago and last night rain turned to sleet and then snow ...... that sort of shut them up. ........ I am waiting for some shrooms to pop up so I can forage and see what I have on my little patch
