Many of you probably notice how the wheel tracks on access roads to (or through) your property settle where the wheels roll, leaving a hump in the center that can get worse over time. 1 thing I've started doing is widening the trail with a brush mower so we don't keep driving the same wheel tracks. I'm curious what some of you do to mitigate the bump between the wheel tracks... It can be especially frustrating when trying to access property during winter, as high centering is no fun.
I used to drag a set of old metal box springs with a big heavy tire and wheel wired to the top for weight to smooth my driveway when it started getting that way. I'm sure there any number of things that would work for that. It was best when it was still wet ground so the weeds pulled out in the center too.

It's been 2 wet years in a row. Actually to the point where standing water creates another issue. As for reducing the middle bump tho, I was thinking of maybe trying 1 of those lawn rollers, but I don't know as it would help. Last year I used a flat shovel in some spots, but it's not realistic to use the flat shovel method the whole length of the trail.

Get a log as big as you can drag with what you are dragging with rip it in half with chainsaw lay the halves wide side down and attach them together a couple feet apart with chains or cables if you attach by wrapping around you need to cut a slot for chain or it willlift log off ground

I dont think a lawn roller is going to be effective. The ruts are compacted by thousands of pounds from your vehicles driving over them repeatedly, you can't replicate that with a lawn roller.
Making the road a little wider and not driving in the same ruts helps some, but you'll need to dig that hump in the middle somehow, whether it's a drag or heavy equipment.
something like this seen lots of different versions of it many home brew type
if you make one about 4-5 feet wide so that it grabs on the high spot in the middle that forms and drags it into the rut.
I have seen them as simple as a couple of 4x6 timbers with angle iron bolted through a skid adjusts how much the iron bits and smaller angle iron across the top to form trays to hold cinder blocks to put weight where it is needed
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
