Seemed a tough winter with all that cold and snow

As chubby as these characters are I’m puzzled.

Deep snow = thin ice and Rats have access to lots of feed. Water temp is stable under the ice no matter how cold the air temp gets.

When I started I took a walk to look things over. There was quite a lot of snow piled up and cold. Pretty normal I suppose for late February. There was an errie quite. The marsh seemed on lock down.
And even crazier there were no people, not even a track of man on a public marsh in Wisconsin during trapping season. I thought to myself last fall I could hardly find a place to park. I guess it takes some kind of oddball to be wanting to plow around in a marsh on lockdown.

I’m not trying to irritate. Contrary educate.

You are losing the opportunity to produce the real marsh trophies! [Linked Image]

Gas buddies.

However we need the clarity “spring” trapping. Because many envision open water. This activity is taking place thru the ice.

If anybody has the ability to provide the historical weather for 54937 from February 26 to March 8 2020. It would give and idea of what we are dealing with as we finish up the muskrats. I’m just not that good

Those look like some great rats. We get those super fat ones occasionally.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.
