Or postpone the fur sale due to the corona virus scare?
I'm curious what y'all think?
I spoke with a very big buyer and he said he has a container of eastern coons ready to be shipped to china and china closed their border to incoming shipments.so now hes stuck with them.
With alot of the market supported by chinese buyers do you think the sale ..if held...will be hugely impacted by lack of chinese participation?
Or due you think itd be smartwr to postpone the sale?
Cause even if the fur is bought by chinese buyers..they cant get it into to china........
Ive managed to develop some alternative markets for much of jerrys fur at good prices in todays market so weve been lucky.
Ive managed to move 200 or so reds at 12.00 and his XL to 3xl beaver for 20.00 each..and they don't have to be shearable..and castor at 70 straight.
We will survive the downturn in the market...we are gonna have to b2ut a couple freezers.... For coon and rats and marten...he doesn't buy beer or weed so has got the money to spend on freezers

In my opinion, the sale will go on as scheduled. Inspection starts in 8 days- March 19. Foreign buyers can participate via the internet or with brokers in the room.
Not sure if FHA is offering any special terms for this sale but nafa is.
If the buyer pays his invoice in full by prompt date, he pays a flat 6% commission and free storage until October 31, 2020. Attractive numbers for some one looking for a long term investment. Yesterday I wouldn't have guessed that the NCAA would ban fans from March Madness or that Groeny would be suspending routes. So who knows. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Without actual bidders on the floor It's not much of a auction. You need In house competition not some on line crap.

Not true, I am currently liquidating the contents of my mother’s house, using online auction. Things i would throw away are selling like hot cakes, and the auctioneer states online auctions are bringing 10%-20% more than live auctions.

Dang if its true..im not the least bit surprised.
Why buy something that they basically can't do anything g with?
I think the WV state auctions the first of many many less than good fur sales
