My wife bought toilet paper today just so we wouldn't run out do to this whole panic thing. I'd never imagined we would by stuff because the stores were running low due to panic.

Its a real danger to the healthcare system-not enough icu beds once it takes off.Primary importance is to try to slow down the spread(thats why all the shutdowns of large gatherings) so as the healthcare system does not collapse like in italy and china where people are chosen who will or will not get treatment to live or die(treatment/facilities insufficient for exploding numbers).
I see Trump will declare a national state of emergency so people can be forced to comply.

What’s the body count 25 now weeks into this thing more cases reported in new States to get a piece of them billions in aid being offered. The whole thing stinks to high heaven.

More people are killed each day by traffic accidents than by this virus yet no one seems to panic about that. My opinion is that this is just the latest "the sky is falling" syndrome used to distract us or as a cover up from more important things.

30 or 40 dead from a mass shooter drives everyone crazy-a few hundred thousand by the time this is done is gonna blow their brains.
Even a few hundred thousand dead from disease is not out of the ordinary-millions died in wars.

Boco's description is right on. We can have it for a short duration with too many severe cases for the medical centers to provide the best care for everyone or we can have it for a long duration and not overwhelm the medical facilities and supply chains. The latter will save lives in the long run and is the course the administration is working to achieve. Unfortunately it will also have the most severe economic impact.
