Thought the same thing. Really disgusted me that he went through all the rural communities cleaning them out.

I don't get it. While I see how people get angry in a time like this, isn't this capitalism? Do know how much mark up is on that brand new $60, 000 dollar pick up truck you just bought and didn't think twice about. The mark up on the name brand clothes you buy your children for social status? (YOU JUST GOT RIPPED OFF by the way) but that's ok because a company sells it and not the little guy?...... If people just bought what they needed and not panic, the shelves would always be full. People are dumb and this guy took advantage of it. He's not the first. I think it's worse that companies like EBAY and Amazon can make a profit but won't let this guy. How is it fair they can control the little guy and pull his account because he was making a profit?

Price gouging rule became law in most places in January 2019 to preserve order during an emergency, ie; charging a $150.00 for a sheet of plywood before a hurricane is a no no and reasonably so. Here's some fun food for thought, literally... I can't bring food or beverage into a movie theater but I can pay $5 for a $1 candy bar. I guess it's acceptable in some areas. Wal mart or any other Retailer buys as low as possible and sells as high as the market bears Retailers aren't providers .....they do the same

I found the picture of him kissing his wife, while holding their baby in the backyard strangely off putting. Who puts a recliner/office chair in the back yard for a staged photo op to elicit sympathy? I feel odd that I dislike them more for that photo rather than the opportunistic profiteering.

I wouldn't call it capitalism so much as contributing to a panic. I would not go as far to say it's illegal, I would say it's immoral. I glad the guy is stuck with the hand sanitizer. Profiting on peoples fear is not a very good moral stance. It is something people should be ashamed of. He is not a victim, yet he is playing one. He will be able to sell off his stock at a reasonable price. Perhaps even for a small profit. He won't lose money in the long run.

Bezos didn't amass 106bil by running a bargain basement. Correct he took the risks he reaped the rewards that’s how it works.

The differance is your life and property are not in danger if you dont go to the movies. You have a choice not to go to the movies if you don't like the prices. See if that works at your next major weather event....choose not to participate. I know your qustion was in joking, but must have some underlying bad thoughts. Taking that a bit farther. Some people think I should remove beavers from their property for free. I make my living doing that. I charge high prices because I can. I have competition so there is a choice..... Am I price gouging? I finish the job and provide a guarantee. My competition doesn't.
