Bad Idea they should spend all the money on buying ventilators, getting a vaccine, more tests for the virus and treatment center it would help stimulate the economy. How long would it take to build "a treatment center" (where?) for a virus that will be done and gone in 6 weeks.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Figure out what $1000 to each man, woman, and child would cost with a population of 35,000,000. That well exceeds what the national debt is now, I believe. If you add up all the total net worth of all millionaires and billionaires in the US it would not cover one year of national DEFICIT. The spending is way outta control, as we all know.
I'm think'in your miss'in some zeros there? Population is around 350,000,000 X 1000 would be $350,000,000,000 Or did I screw it up? Close , better math. Current USA population 331 million Numbers tossed out there , $1000 per adult , $500 per child. POTUS talking about a $200 billion package Current national debt $23.3 Trillion I am willing to be corrected if my numbers are off. Also how many trillion did obama spend ? Hmmmmmm.........

I'm no genious either. I've never needed to work with more than three zeros so...... I think three zeros added to 331 million is more than 200 billion though. Just guessin'.

Three zeros added to 331 million is more than 200 billion , correct. $1000 per adult , $500 per child doesn't add up to 331 billion. Plus , people that are very rich are probably not eligible, maybe some guy that just crossed the border in the last year isn't going to be eligible too , because the government doesn't know he is here or where to find him. I doubt convicts are going to be eligible.

Gone are the days people are too proud to take handouts. Not all of us are looking for handouts

We got stimulus checks back in the credit crisis era also. Not a new concept but an interesting one if folks are not working. Get money in hands to pay Bill's, get money circulating again, that sort of thing. Consumer drives a lot of our economy. My boys went to scheels to buy some ammo just to shoot and pass time a little now that baseball is shut down for a bit. Ammo shelves were nearly empty and the price per box had skyrocketed. They got last two boxes of 7.62x39 and paid a lot of $ to get those. Even simple 20 gauge shells were high I thought. Looks like it did after 911 all over. Sheesh. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
