I would like to say that we have advanced enough as a society to be responsible enough to handle any "aliens do exist" news from the government. But seeing how society has went to pot over toilet paper it seems obvious we cant handle that sort of information. Heck If i were an alien I surely wouldnt share any technology with us. We would just turn it into a weapon and kill ourselves with it.
