You carve one of those big fat kids pencils into a Santa Claus Christmas tree ornament. Just put a loop of dental floss through the eraser and it's good to go. They are made of plastic so when you use a wood burner to do the hair and beard it raises it up. If you twist it back and forth it makes it look curly.

I gotta say that's a heck of a nice looking ornament.

That's some nice talent OP and the ones following that were posted with the tiny carvings. No way I could do that stuff. Wish I had that talent , my hat is off to you all.
Had a roommate years ago that has some talent , take a look at some of his work.





He is in demand during the Halloween season , he can make $300 or more a day at festivals or large garden centers as an attraction so people can watch him work. It takes him 1-2 hours or more to do one pumpkin. He has also done them on request for a good buck. Also currently is one of the Guiness World holders for the largest jack O'lantern as he and a few of this artist friends carved out a pumpkin in excess of 1000lbs.

I took 4 hours off work this week , it had been scheduled but that was canceled so I used ti to make a run to the dump , 4 hours off and I still had over time for the week.

I am getting tired of hearing of bored people.
how about the bored come rake my lawn and I will provide a to go meal and a roll of TP.

my kids leaned not to use the word bored or say they are cause they know I have work for them.

All this reminds me of some of the cool stuff that was made during wartime by soliders in the field using spent shellcasings to make art or even lighters. Neat stuff.

Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers with my title. I have been real busy, modified a dozen traps, built a gun, boiled 3 sets of antlers to put them on artificial skulls I have wanted to try and worked on fish carvings. Guess I just miss being around people. Oh, carved a pencil! Haha! Not being a whiner either, guess I was just putting my thoughts out there. Just heard 41 people in Georgia that went to church are testing positive and 1 has died and 2 are critical after being around a person that had the virus in the choir. Serious stuff, I will find more to do at home.
