Anybody know someone who has worked for them? Just wondering what that company is like. An old friend of mine's dad used to work for them. He seemed to like it.

Good food but not healthy to live off of pretty much restaurant type food very rich they have a good selection of quality food. As far as working there I worked for them for about 6 months long hours, it pays well but it’s because you work so many hours it’s like working 2 jobs for straight pay. The insurance was very good.
The place I worked out of the manager had a side job in construction he would not answer his phone would not bring you product if you were running low and had a big day the next day.
You get a big area and we had a few nights out of town yes money to be made yes, but without support it’s a uphill battle. When I was being interviewed for the job the Sheriff came in and was looking for 2 drivers that should of been a hint. LOL

I actually saw one of their trucks the other day. When I was in jr. high my buddy and I were at a small cafe eating. Our table was near the restroom door. Little did we know the Schwann's driver was in there. He came out and left the door open. He cleared half the cafe out!!!! It was bad.

Anybody know someone who has worked for them? Just wondering what that company is like. I worked for then for 3 years but it was almost 20 years ago. When Marvin was still alive and his brother Al still played a roll in the company, they were very good to the drivers. They are a huge company now, I remember when they bought Tony's Pizza (about half the store brands are made in that factory in Salina KS) and they were proud of the fact they paid cash for Misses Smith's Pies.
Sadly, once the two brothers who founded the company were out, the drivers got less and less every year. I'm sure it is still a great company to work for, but back then it was outstanding. Their product selection is high quality and probably has something for everyone. My favorites are the IQF seafood andfrozen veggies.

I was working at a ranchhouse 50 miles out in the Sandhills and was surprised when a Schwanns truck pulled in. They know where the money is and if it isn't there they quit coming.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.
