I have the worksharp and am happy with it, while I prefer a good set of Japanese water stones for my good knifes the work sharp cuts down on the time I spend on common kitchen knives or skinning knifes for the shed
The Smith is in my opinion from what I have seen is a cheap copy of the work sharp and made to looser fits but if you hav a steady hand it should work for you
Just my opinion

I have a work sharp. You can put a usable sharp edge on a butter knife in a couple minutes with one. To get shave the hair on your arm sharp you need to finish with a good whet stone but it wont take very many strokes. I don't bother to whet stone our kitchen knives. They are all sharper than when new. Would not have to on pelting knives either, it puts on a very usable edge without any honing.
