Infinity sounds more accurate. Why get lost in all the zeros?

Like I heard one lady say, “They knew I have bad credit, don’t know why they sent me a card, but I might as well use it.” Took me a minute, but I realized it wasn’t her fault. They (credit card co) should’ve known better, is what she was saying. And, when I thought about again, I realized they were both to blame.

Trump didn’t go bankrupt 6 times and then become POTUS by being slower than the next guy. Pay attention cause school is in session.

I think I remember a Trump quote saying how he loved debt. The more the better or words to the effect.

I remember an interview with Trump back in the 80's sometime.He got out of a limo,and pointed to a bum on the street and said to the reporter-"see that guy?Hes richer than I am".The reporter looked at him and said "what?"and Trump replied "that guy has nothing and doesnt owe anyone a cent.I owe about 6 million"

Supposedly it's only for tax payers? What happens when the non tax payers don't get their checks? Oh this is gonna get real interesting in the inner cities.

You will never get ahead in a business, personal life or will the government get ahead, ( thats a joke) with debt. So why does the government think we can buy our way out of this with debt?? Obama did as others did and now Trump will put us more into debt, trying to buy another term in office by kicking the can down the road. Why do people expect the government to alway bail everyone and every business out, its not going to work.

My point was that I'm hoping that the money goes FIRST to the people at the bottom of the totem pole! If you lost your job because this virus closed your business and you're laid off, these should be the first people to get the stimulus. Small business owners included in this.

To state that the resorts and airlines are "In trouble, and needs to be supported", leads me to believe that this stimulus is more about big business then the Common Man.

I'm afraid that there will be loads of people getting money, because they "worked the system" and figured out a way to get on the graveyard train!

AntiGov, I'm not pouring gas on anything, and definetly not spraying "quill"! I'm a Conservative but certainly believes in this country, regardless of who's President. Certainly not trying to start "stirrin' s#&t like others on this site.

Think about it, bail-outs in 2008, all I heard was big government/big business, never do nothing for the little guy. Usually meaning the small-business person. Major flooding occurs, farm bail-out. Again, same complaints. This time, bail everyone out, sort-of. “How long we gotta stay inside? When those checks coming? Mailman been by yet? Wanna shop for houses?” Everything’s fine, move along now, just stay 6 feet apart. Maintain social order, I mean, distancing.

I’m not Trump bashing by the way. Just in case someone misunderstood. Trump may not have accomplished all the things he said he would do, but he’s been pretty well sticking to what he’s said in the financial arena. And, among those I know, financial reasons had more to do with their vote for him than anything else. That tax cut he delivered on was appreciated by many. Most of those same people aren’t a bit concerned with their financial position, some despite losing in the markets the last month. There are a few that have arranged their finances based on what Trump says, and they see opportunity for more of his ideas to unfold, and within those ideas there’s money to be made. I just listen when those who are in positions of leadership speak. I wonder where it will all lead and ultimately end.

Does anyone really believe that the national debt means anything, at this point? Who do we owe this to and what is their means of collection? I, highly doubt, any person or country is going to try to call our debt. Why would they, there is nothing but blue sky to put in their pockets! If the Chinese tried to recover their debt, they would be looking down the barrel of the U.S. Military. They have nothing to gain there. Their best option is to wait for a democrat controlled House and Senate that is willing to hand over the country.

When the economy collapses and the country breaks up the first thing to go is the military.Always goes that way in a failed state.When russia failed,people in their military were selling all kinds of stuff on the open market to get money for food.There are still a bunch of nukes from that period that have never been accounted for floating around out there.

millions of workers get paid in cash so there are issues there. Also if you do not file tax the current amount is $600. Filing and not paying any are not the same thing. Many persons have money taken out for taxes and wind up getting all or more back and that is millions of tax filers in the lower income range with families. With a 27,000 itemized deduction a lot of families with low income won't pay any taxes federally. A larger issue down the road for next year will be when tax payers get their checks with no with holdings how will that income be recorded or taxed? Will the money given to make up for wages lost be considered earned income and subject to SS and Medicare taxes or not. Sure it is early to be thinking about this as the funds have not even been approved as of yet. You want to get millions back to work. Declare the national emergency to direct firms to build the needed equipment. All those employees and firms will be classified as essential. Sometimes solutions are just too easy if you are looking for easy solutions. May not be the best for the virus and social distancing but there sure could be ways to deal with this that have not been explored.

The last stimulus package for US companies in 2008 resulted in top executives getting handsome bonuses thanks to the American taxpayers. I'm glad that they are at least trying to get this package approved with some controls.

I don’t think it matters if they keep business close more than 2 weeks we’ll be in a depression.

I dont know why they make it so complicated.Just issue monthly basic income cheques to each individual citizen of working age and cut off all other gov't cheques temporarily.Only requirement to get it is to stay at home(except for necessity) until the crisis is over.
