I just love this type of history. It's amazing how many steps it took to make this one part of a shell. If you have the time this is a great watch. Machinist will get a real kick out of it. Hard to believe all of this work for one round and they fired off thousands at a time. Just a great historical video.
I don't know if anyone noticed but there are no women in this video and back then they made up most of the work force. I'm wondering if that was done on purpose so we didn't look weak?

Very possibly. I did notice one guy smoking a cigarette while working however , that would be a no-no today. Plus the close proximity to many moving parts and other hazards , OSHA would have a fit with that work area.
