I have a great deal of historic mistrust about anything the Chinese government publishes, just like the rest of you, but hear me out on this thought.
As we look at the COVID 19 fatalities as reported in the US, you and I both know that they are overinflated. Now don't dogpile here and tell me I'm in denial. I'm not; I know this is a global pandemic, but we all know that (1) we have a media who has an insatiable appetite on this thing . . . they make their money as a business based on hype and hyperbole, so they have the incentive to declare every fatality to be COVID 19 related, as do insurance companies and physicians; (2) many of the so called COVID 19 fatalities are fatalities from pre-existing conditions and they ALSO had COVID 19 (case in point, I had a client with stage 4 cancer; she was given weeks to live, contracted COVID 19 and died two weeks later, just when the physicians said she would but her death is attributed to COVID 19); (3) perhaps the Chinese report more specifically the cause of the fatality instead of blaming everything on COVID 19. Just a thought.

I agree completely with Lasarus on this but our "open border" and "everyone is welcomed" policies will bite us in the tail. I was heading to the front door of a local business a few years back and an illegal alien leaving the store sneezed. A cloud of blood came my way! I cleaned up the best I could with H2O2 and Alcohol then went home and showered an washed my clothes.
The next day I was getting tested for TB which is being drug across the border in surprising frequency. I have practiced good hygiene and social distancing for some time now. COVID 19 is just one of many things that can take you out..
Give an illegal alien a fish and he eats for a day. Deport him and you never have to feed him ever again!

I’m not disagreeing with anyone. But what good does it do us to complain about China’s (or So Korean, Swiss, Brazilian, etc) numbers? We’re an open society. We have press freedom. China has one party which tries to control everything. The fact is, we should be worrying about ourselves and not be fixating on others. If China doesn’t want to share, that’s fine with me.
They did share in the beginning and as history is my guide, since there weren’t test results to look at, we didn’t take them seriously. Now we have test results. It’s a big deal in many countries. So let’s treat this for what it is. It’s a disease that affects the entire world and it’s being treated the best way we can.

Trump's been getting a lot of flak for calling it the "China Virus". I think he's just reminding the world who is responsible. Not that China is responsible for the virus mutating but they sure put the rest of the planet at risk by hiding the facts. There needs to be consequences. The rest of the world can survive without China and we should stop trading with them.

A lawsuit has been filed against China to the International Criminal Court. The suit alleges that China developed the Coronavirus and it escaped from its labs. The suit maintains that China be held responsible for all of America's economic hardships.
