Left my heavily defended, virus proof, compound
and made the arduous & perilous 16 mile journey
to the hardware store.

Needed a high visibility "FOR SALE" sign to put
in the window of a vehicle I am selling plus a few
other odds & ends.

When I arrived at the store, I was greeted by a
table barrier with sign saying employees only in store.

No big deal there, so I am asked by employee what
I want to pick up, and she will bring it out.

I gave her a verbal list of my needed supplies,
and she say okay, but we are only accepting credit
or debit cards for payment. NO CASH !!!

I explained I did not have or possess either of those
methods of paying, and would she take a chicken
in exchange for payment !!! She gave me a funny look
and I left before I said what I really should have told her.

Maybe I'm wrong, but handing someone a virus covered
credit or debit card can't be any more sanitary than handed
them a Andy Jackson $20.00 dollar bill.

So the war on cash has started in my little neck of the woods.

Went home and did what I should have done in the first place.
scrounged up a black Sharpie magic marker, and a piece
sheet foam insulation and drew up a pretty For sale sign
for my vehicle windshield.

Problem solved, and I just crossed that hardware store off my
shopping itinerary.

What does the trapperman Brain Trust think about " NO CASH" ?

Tap and go, been that way for a month now.

Oh wait you still have to slide your cards.

The safest is: "just put it on my account".

Most places around here have the chip readers, so the cashier no longer has to handle the card. My wife works in a bank, its amazing how dirty her hands get from the cash.

Just think of the places that money has been.

It is worth calling before traveling too far to see what policies are.A week ago I put my cash in the bank as I new this would be coming.Our pharmacy is not taking cash so my credit card is on file.I am using Amazon Prime to order a lot of small stuff that I otherwise would have to travel 30 miles for and could be out of stock.That stuff gets here in a couple days with free shipping.

I want to see a picture of the sign. Might be a money making venture in it for ya.

I am surprised the Govt has not eliminated cash already. They are always looking for more taxes and eliminating cash would make all income taxable as you would only have cards. Also would put sales taxes on all purchases even on Walleyed's truck and other sales, like selling used traps at a convention or selling whatnot to anybody. Everyone would be required to scan the card onto there phone (using something like the product now called "Square") so even a simple yard sale would be taxed. Its commin' and this virus may hurry it up. As the Pols say: "Let no crisis go to waste."

Hardware store is closed here. 2 employees contracted the COV-19. Wonder how they will ever sanitize the store and contents?

Work at a jail and see what’s left when they leave that place and end up in the drunk tank wetting themselves with that $20 some people hold in their mouth in their pockets.

When that happens people will go back to barter.I've used the barter system for years now.Not for everything but for a lot.You would be surprised how many people are open to using the barter system when you have products and skills that are valuable to a lot of people.I barter with welders, mechanics,hunters,trappers,plumbers,electricians,and others.
