I heard what I thought had to be a rumor but turned out to be partially true. But the guy who clarified it was a grandfather (and good friend): the rumor is that Canada’s school children are getting just one hour of televised school a day. Say it ain’t so!!!
Did Canada decide to just televise school one hour a day and essentially close schools for the rest of the year? Is it more than a rumor that your schools ONLY provide one hour of school a day?
I can’t imagine Canada closing schools and not providing more than an hour a day in the face of covid-19.
Never too old to learn

My granddaughter is out of school for the remainder of the year and is living with us in the booneys. She has Skype (or something similar) for about an hour each weekday. But, she's keeping up with her schoolwork with about 4 hours of dedicated work every day (plus helping me build fence and clean/boil wolf traps). In my opinion, she's probably getting more and better education this way than she'd be getting at school. She's actually using her own brain, rather than getting fed crap at a public school. I think it's been great!

School is done for the year here. I feel bad for the grade 12 students who finish their schooling on this note. Senior year taken from them.
Cold as ice!

But the guy who clarified it was a grandfather (and good friend): the rumor is that Canada’s school children are getting just one hour of televised school a day. Say it ain’t so!!! Rumors in my opinion are often lies and that is the case with this one. I have kids in high school, they get 3 hours per course, per week. I am also a teacher, grade 7, I provide 15 hours of online instruction per week to my students. Canada is broken into different political regions called provinces too, much like your states, and the specifics within every province is different than that of their neighbor but to say that school is televised and only one hour per day is laughable.

Americans for the most part dont know much about Canada,Unlike Canadians knowledge of the USA. This is understandable since The USA has such a large influence over everything.Like one Canadian politician said "Its like sleeping beside a big fat elephant."

I know this to be extremely true. I actually love to travel throughout North America, for me it is interesting to see not only geographical difference but also cultural ones as well as "seeing ways of life". I try to participate in conversations with people whenever the opportunity arises, whether on a dock in state park in Minnesota, a campground on the coast in Oregon, in some little rural bar in Wisconsin, a trout pond in some Rocky Mountain campground in Colorado, wherever, the lack of basic knowledge is astounding. For the most part though, people are pretty understanding of the reasons why they know so little and tend to ask a lot of questions. Some states are obviously more ignorant than others.

Canucks believe that they have knowledge of the USA, that's true. But in most all conversations y'all sound silly, see the comment from rvsask lol. We for the most part just let it go, because we are polite. Plus, you all are like our timid little sister, ain't right to slap ya around, much.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

That proves your lack of knowledge about Canada. You are not taught Canadian history in your schools. Canadians are taught American history in our schools.
