Nice work, did the carp bite or was it snagged? I had one bite a plug once trolling for walleye. Thing weighed about 15 lbs, thought it was the state record walleye for awhile. LOL

Spinner baits with painted blades. Lake is normally clear but the floods last few weeks has got colored water from one end to the other( 59 miles) Smallmouth go nuts when this happens. 3 feet deep and mean as all get out . I almost lost my rod couple times they hit it so hard!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes carp bit thought he had a giant flat head . Man I was disappointed to see that yellow thing roll up.

Awesome looking smallmouth! My favorite warm water fish.

That carp looks full of eggs. I hope you didn't release it.

Prn we catch very large carp in early morning and late afternoon on rattle trap, shad raps etc on a lake near the house. They are out in deeper water (20ft +) on the surface feeding on schooling minnows. When we are fishing walleye and see them off in the deeper water we will go out and chase them around for a bit. They can be a ton of fun to catch

Pound for pound one of the toughest fighters in fresh water. Looks like lots of fun.

A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.
