Taking my boy out. Didn't put any to bed but I know where they like to hang out. He chose to use my 870 410. Loaded up some tss. Now all I have to do is put a bird in front of him.

Good luck to the rest of you.

Hopefully you guys had more luck than we did, heard lots of gobbling but couldn't get one to commit. Still a great day to be out and he had a blast, excited to give it another shot this Saturday.

Three gobbles at first light then nothing the rest of the day. Great weather and we found some sheds while walking. I consider it a success.

Had some luck this morning it's been a tough year so far between lack of gobbling, increased hunting pressure, and less birds than usual. 19.8#, 10" beard, 1" spurs got in between him and his 6 hens first thing and worked perfectly. Good luck to everyone still after them and hopefully the weather gets better real soon. Probably just going to keep my second tag in the pocket due to low numbers around here this year.

Talked to a buddy that took his boy and another to the wife’s family farm and they each got a bird and gobblers for both, both messed up a bit but it still worked out for them. One had a standing shot but no shell in the chamber, the other froze up but was talked through it.

I spent the first week of the season at my camp in north-central PA near the NY border. Spring was late this year...or maybe early last year. Last year everything was leafed out and green, this year it was winter bare.

We had below freezing temps in the morning most of the week and an inch of snow on two different days. And the wind never let up.

It was in of the quietest weeks (gobbling-wise) at camp I've experienced.

Eh...wot?

Great job. I'm still after old 70. I call him old 70 because that's how close I've had him.5 TIMES !!! In the last week.he has a bearded hen with him that is just playing h3!! With me. I've been hunting in the mornings a few hours so I can get back and get to work on the computer but tomorrow the weather looks great for hunting so I took a vacation day and I'm going to hit it hard and old 70 better be on his toes because I'm going to be on mine. Good luck everyone and be safe
