I re-hydrated some 25 year old morels for supper tonight.......they were as good as last springs batch! I have 2 or 3 qts of mince meat my mother canned. She passed away in 96. I had 6-7 of them, but every couple years I make a pie. I have no idea what year she canned it. As long as the seals are good I'll eat it. P.S. ......don't ask how they stayed hidden that long! I am a bit of a hoarder......always try to fit 5 lbs of crap into a 3 lb bag.

I have eaten a few turtles that had to have been over 30 years old.

I recently had a turkey from my brothers freezer that was bought 10 years ago give or take a month and it was just fine vacuum packed I figured that if the safari club could eat mammoth steak that would as frozen in a glacier 50000 or so years ago what’s 10 years or so carefully sealed and kept in a freezer

Had some brandy by way of a friend that was bottled 600 years ago, was ok but was over priced in my opinion didn’t taste any better then the bottle crown royal sitting in my closet

Might need new teeth before I'm done.

I do have a frosted cookie in a plastic case from my 26th birthday. So let's see that would make it about 12 years old now.

Shrimp...at least 17 years old. My Grandmother died in 1987. She was a hoarder. There were two full freezers in the basement that my uncle and I needed to clean out for an upcoming estate auction. At the bottom of one freezer, we found two 5 pound pasteboard boxes full of frozen shrimp. In the 60s and 70s, my uncle lived in Gulfport, MS and had a shrimp boat. He came to Pa. every July to visit family and brought 300 lbs of shrimp to give out to his kinfolk. The boxes had “ Mom and Dad” wrote on the outside, it was his ex wife’s writing. They were divorced in 1970. So the shrimp predated 1970.

We took the boxes back to his house and opened them. The shrimp were froze in water, the contents looked like a block of ice. We put everything in the sink and let them thaw. A few of the shrimp near the outside of the carton were freezer burned, 90% looked fine. We deep fried some that evening for diner, tasted great.

If had canned venison that was 29 years old. It was as good as the day in went in the jar.
