The Belviney is pretty smooth scotch. Never have tried their $260/fifth stuff, probably couldn’t tell the difference anyway.

Buffalo trace for the lower priced side of whiskey and Blantons for something a little upper price Both of these as one of them is the same mash bill as Pappy Van Winkle they just age it longer and in a different part of the rickhouse. My all time favorite to sip over one large cube is Talisker.

I like 1792, Elijah Craig, Knob Creek's 120 proof and their smoked maple flavor. Woodford Reserve and Gentleman Jack. Crown Royal peach is good, and the cheaper variety Jim Beam Vanilla, Jim Beam Black and Jim Beam Devils cut. Also like Wild Turkey's American Honey.

What's the difference between bourbon and whiskey?
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

What's the difference between bourbon and whiskey? All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon. “Bourbon needs to be produced in America and made from 51 percent corn, and whiskey does not,” says Maker’s Mark Master Distiller Greg Davis. Bourbon also needs to be stored in new charred-oak barrels, whereas whiskey barrels do need to be oak but not new or charred. “Lastly, to be called bourbon, the liquid needs to be distilled to no more than 160 proof and entered into the barrel at 125.” For other whiskies the liquid must be distilled to no more than 190 proof. David notes that this isn’t just common practice—”it’s actual bourbon law.” https://www.mensjournal.com/food-dr...ce-between-bourbon-and-whiskey-20140905/
