It appears the leaves on my potatoes took a hit from the frost/freeze. Will they recover? I thought maybe since they are tubers they would regenerate?

Mine get froze off about every other year. It won't hurt them a bit. LLL

I've had potatoes freeze off to the ground twice in the same year and came back fine and gave a good crop.

I've never had that late of a frost but I would imagine it would take a hard ground freezing chill to kill off spuds as mine overwinter just fine and sprout back in the spring

Yes, they get burned off, turn black. But as long as the freeze doesn’t actually extend into the soil ( unlikely), the plant will grow back new growth. My grandfather told me that if frost burns off the plant, you won’t have potato beetles that season. Don’t know if true....I haven’t had potato bugs in many years.
