Headed up there this week (near Bruce). What’s the vegetation stage like? Still pretty open or is it leafed out yet? Gobblers still got lots of hens?

I’m south of Bruce but the foliage is behind schedule here. You can still see aways into the wood.
Toms have been less vocal the last week compared to the pryer two weeks.

Was just north of Bruce this weekend just starting to leaf out at ground level still pretty open. Wasn't hunting but heard one gobble and saw three jakes in the field and two toms that were with hens. Snowed about an inch last night at the cabin.

Posted this pic on another thread but this is about 15 miles north of there.

Good luck!

SW WI here, im not a turkey hunter but I havent heard a single gobble yet. IMO there have been a lot less turkey over the past few years. I use to be able to drive around and see 50-100 in a field, now lucky to see a dozen

Got mine last week. Very little gobbling early, bit more later in the morning. This cold weather seems to have shut them up. Been seeing a few in the fields. Woods are still pretty open.
