Lot of good employees out of work.
Be easy to put a good crew together.
Question is doing what.
What is flourishing?

Yeah, someone close got laid off today.

I don't think anything but the medical field is flourishing. At least not out in Wyoming.

It's a trappers life for me

What was the laid off person laid off from? Other than some medical personnel, I don’t know of anyone not working.

offer a grocery service , you go buy their list they pay you 25 more than the cost + some mileage if more than 5 miles

fire wood , hey if you got nothing but time get a few of you together you don't even need to work very close together a couple saws , a tractor splitter or two and you can at least make heat sell a few loads to cover your fuel , chains.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Maybe caskets ? So on the news a couple of guys are making card board box beds and if you die they just pull a pin and drop you in the bottom part of the box. Seems the only complication was they have to be wrapped in plastic to conceal the virus. They said wood caskets were getting scarce.

Also in another news bit they said prisoners had no soap to wash their hands. They have to buy their own soap with the $1 per hr they make working at jobs in the prison. Soap was not a high priority for them. Now some of them are making $6 per hr digging graves. So maybe a combo casket making and grave digging business== big money.

The medical community is NOT flourishing. They are getting hurt as much or more than many others. Can't go to the dentist or the eye doctor so the dentists, eye doctors, and their staffs are making no money. No so called elective surgery, and hospital workers are being laid off. For example here in Va there are 1529 CV19 patients receiving in hospital care and 4784 hospital beds available for CV19 patients. Plus there are an additional 3695 beds available under a special executive order that allows increased licensed bed capacity. Essentially those 4784 regular beds are being held empty, except for emergency care, for CV19 patients. That's no different economically for a hospital than for a restaurant to be told they can only open at 30% capacity.

I call BS on this. Some bleeding heart hug-a-thug came up with this story after their POS inmate friend/relative told them they couldn't afford soap begging someone to put money on their books. Every institution has indigent supply, where inmates that can't afford basic supplies, will be given supplies (soap, stamps, paper, envelopes, etc) on the tax payers dollar. I wish they would go back to making everyone one of them work for their meal, hard labor.

Off my soap box. The online sales of items have exploded. Make an item and sell it on ETSY, easy money for those willing to put in the effort.

In Washington state, the maximum weekly benefit amount is $790. The minimum is $188, add the $600 from the feds for 16 weeks. it is not easy hiring someone off unemployment right now.

I’ve thought of this subject multiple times recently, as a firefighter I get a lot of days off and I believe a company that could pressure wash and sanitize inside and outside of businesses could do well. If you have the right connections to get the jobs.

Enjoy the time off. Embrace the suck. Smell the roses while they can. It won't last forever and they will be back at the grind again

I know of a 22 year old that started a pressure washing business at 16 and is making high 6 figures a year. This virus hasn’t effected his business one bit.

Construction in N.C. is going. DOT is out of money and contracts are frozen.

Guess you could surface and paint parking lots that are empty.

I'm looking for work too. Been working desk jobs for the last 10 years and I've decided I want to do something with my hands instead. There will be a flood of people looking for work late July/early August when the extra $600 federal unemployment runs out. I'm trying to get ahead of the curve and hoping it's worth the effort. It should show an employer I'd rather be working than sitting on my couch pulling unemployment. It's going to take some adjusting though, I doubt I'll find something entry-level that pays what I was making before I was laid off.
