I'm all for helping folks out but this screams of socialism. What's next? LOL Trump may be a lot of things but socialist is not one of them. No TONS of reports that made the news showing the increase in price brought negative news. The drug companies are giving some on popular and life sustaining drugs so they can charge more for newer drugs. Remember insulin has been around for decades. MOST drugs that are old are dirt cheap. Wonder why they don't prescribe valium much anymore? I was given it for bladder spasmns and 30 pills cost me 98 cents. Can't make millions with those prices.

I would guess that regulations have narrowed the number of companies producing insulin. If Trump threatened or actually reduced regulations, the market could open up and substantially reduce the price of insulin. I have little problem with controlling the price if we (the Govt.) have helped create a monopoly that companies then use for profit. Yea thank Obummer and sleepy Joe for a lot of that . Yes congress is to blame for most of that . BIG donations and lobbyist insure the politicians vote for their interest. Big insurance is another culprit. When I filed for disability after a sever spinal injury I found out that my PRIVATE disability policy that I paid 54 bucks a month for 15 years would not pay me a dime. Because my retirement plus social security equaled 80% of my salary by FEDERAL LAW I wasn't entitled to a penny of that coverage. Said I couldn't benefit from being disabled. Well 20% reduction in salary and losing my company paid health and dental doesn't seem to be benefiting to me... BUT I'm not a politician.

Maybe the big company's can make it up on the covid19 vaccine. And since some may not work we may need many and often. Only problem is we won't know if they didn't work til we got it.

I’m sorry to put a damper on this but we don’t know when this will start. If it’s like “anyone can get tested” or “It’ll be over by Easter” or ‘the promotion of hydroxychloroquine because”what can it hurt” type rhetoric, the proof isn’t in the pudding, cuz the pudding hasn’t been served. Not anyone who needs one can get a test yet. With 1.7 million laboratory confirmed (and growing) cases, it hasn’t gone away. Hydroxychloroquine has been proven in 6 highly respected studies NOT to work for covid-19.
Just because something is announced by the Whitehouse, doesn’t make it happen right now
Yes, testing has gotten better. But this virus isn’t going away. And no amount of wishful thinking on the part of the president is going to make hydroxychloroquine a game changer.
Never too old to learn

Yes, testing has gotten better. But this virus isn’t going away. And no amount of wishful thinking on the part of the president is going to make hydroxychloroquine a game changer. This is from CNN which I'm sure you would consider to be a reliable source: "In his remarks, Trump also thanked Seema Verma, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, for having "brought this to my attention a long time ago." Verma said during a call with reporters earlier on Tuesday that "these plans will begin starting in January 2021 in all 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico, and seniors can find a participating plan on our 'Medicare plan finder' during the annual open enrollment period, which begins on October 15." The new benefit will be offered through Medicare Part D prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans." This addresses the point of the OP. The rest of your post is typical political bashing which has nothing to do with the topic.

but this screams of socialism. What's next? LOL, that was the first thing I thought of when I read prices had been reduced to real world costs. Quinn Nystrom, a leader of T1International's Minnesota chapter, said in May that the price in the U.S. of insulin per vial was $320 US, while in Canada the same medication under a different name was $30 The simple reason is Canada, like many other industrialized countries, has price controls on the cost of pharmaceuticals. The Patented Medicine Prices Review Board ensures the price of patented medicine sold in Canada is “not excessive” and remains “comparable with prices in other countries.”
(This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) Socialism.

My wife takes 2 different types of insulin,Humalog, Tresiba. @ 3 shots a day for 47 years. That adds up to a lot of money. I have no way of proving it but I think 30.00 per vial should cover it. ( 28 units in the morning and 6 units @ dinner and supper)

I wonder who will make up the difference ?? Everyone talks about a free market until it gets uncomfortable for them. Well if it cost 6 bucks in 76 and there was profit I can't see how there isn't profit at 35 bucks in 2020. What happened to cause it to go to 300? No competition? I suspect it is the same thing causing college tuition to get so high. If a destitute student can borrow 60-70 thousand over 4 years guess what a BA will cost. If medicare sets the price cap at 300 then same thing. Just more of the government "saving" us from the problem they created. Mike

Yes, testing has gotten better. But this virus isn’t going away. And no amount of wishful thinking on the part of the president is going to make hydroxychloroquine a game changer. Testing ? OK here is my opinion on that . IF you get a positive outcome then what. There isn't a vaccine to give right then to treat it. IF your sick stay home!!! Testing hasn't stopped the virus . IT IS NOT A CURE !! It is fodder for some governors to use to lock people down. People are so tired of hearing about testing that now NOONE wants to show up. They are thinking why bother. What does it accomplish? Here in Ky they have 13 testing sites that can do 400 test per day. In the Gov nightly report he gives numbers still available. Some are only getting 10-20 people a day !!! Testing is one tool to get more money PERIOD !! The nursing homes have accounted for 65 % of the deaths here in our state . THEY ARE ALL LOCKED DOWN !!! Over the last 6 days Ky has had 8 deaths total. ALL from NURSING HOMES !!!!!! We have had 400 total in 3 months. Some cause of death fishy. But really that's not a lot of people to die during any 3 month period. Oh forgot average age of death is around 80 !!! Even Fauci said today that second wave may not happen
