Most of them don't know who their parents are.

Fathers Day is the loneliest day of the year in those cities.
On a brighter note, Fathers Day cards can be bought in packs of 5.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

I think a big part of it is that young peoples lives in the cities is so mundane that when the chance presents itself to do something new and exciting they all jump on the bandwagon.
A few nights of rioting, looting, arson, drinking, and smoking dope in the streets takes a bit of the boredom out of their lives. And once the fear of prosecution is gone like when the cops retreat, then a lot of kids that would normally be law abiding just let themselves be led along by the small group of instigators.
They think its a great big demolition party. You can see a lot of these people are not angry but actually in a celebratory mood.
And as far as looting-well-everybody likes free stuff, and when there are no consequences then the majority will participate.
The escalating criminality is exacerbated by not meeting the lawlessness with maximum force at the outset.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I starting to think there are people that just wait for a riot to start and they attend the riot just like one big party.

I agree 100% If you want to protest then fine, knock yourself out. When you start destroying and stealing property, when you injure others, it's time for the police and national guard to start dropping people. It would stop this in a hurry.
