I have a chance to pick one up, but it looks a little different than others I have seen. It has really good wood and checkering, also the sight flips down. Its in a 270 win. I have looked, but yet to find one that looks just like this one does. He says that its all the original wood on it. Anyone have any ideas?

I own several 721, 722's and 725's but none have a folding rear sight. Also, 721 and 722's were not checkered, only the 725's were. They are great rifles but don't bring big bucks.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Ok thank you for the reply. Maybe both the sight and stock are aftermarket. I have some pictures, but I cant seem to figure out how to get them on here.

Remington made a 721B. This was upgraded wood for sure, I’m trying to remember on the checkering. As a boy guiding mule deer hunters I saw a few of them, didn’t own one.
I have 721’s but no B models but I’d like to. All of mine and particularly the .270 are terrific shooters.

Check the rifling well, especially the exit end of the barrel. MOST importantly dry run some rounds thru over and over. The ejectors can get faulty and if it is they are tough to replace. That would be a deal breaker for me.-

I am sure its a 721. Looking at the pictures I can find, the stock looks much the same as the B. I am going to guess the folding sight was added to it. Thank you for the reply
