What is the value of a #13 & #14 Victor Oneida Jump Trap, with teeth? These traps are in very good shape, I'm told.

I'll be looking at some this Tuesday and want to know a fair price to pay.

Are you going to use them, collect them or resell them?

The 14s are very common (I just picked up 3 dozen nice complete traps for about $17.50). The 13s are harder to find. I would pay at least $50.00, if it was in good collector condition.

Now, if there would happen to be a really nice #12 in the group....... $100.00 would not be out of line.

IMO

I agree with wissmiss even though it looks like she got a heck of a deal on the #14's What I have seen in this area is around $40 for the 14, $60 - $70 for the 13 and $100 plus for a good #12.

I was buying the 14s to resell. I like to make a profit on my trap purchases. But to be honest, I think $40.00 is on the high end for #14s

wissmiss & backroadsarcher, going to resell. Thanks for the info.

Do any states or provinces still use these traps? Are they legal? (just wondering)

We can still use in Alaska, I use the 14 as a beaver trap. Although they are also a fairly common trap to use for wolverine because hard for them to chew because of low profile.

They are legal in some of the lower 48, as long as they are underwater. Not sure which states.

If you are going to resell the 14s, I would try to keep your cost at or under $20.00. On the 13s, check the overall condition and thatthe pan is readable.

If you do the ebay thing those #14's usually go pretty good. I think you would hard pressed to pick up good ones there for $30 or less. People spend a lot of money there and usually more than what stuff is really worth.

Trap Collectors Guide second addition by Andreski and Parr shows the #14 at $75 in excellent condition. Seems a bit high to me.

I just looked in the Parr book and the $75.00 price is for the solid pan model made by OC from 1910-1914. In excellent condition that might be a fair price.

If you look farther down the page, the price for a 14 in excellent condition made by ATCo is $30.00. That is about right to maybe a bit low. The book is 4 years old, so factoring in inflation.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. As I read down the list a bit farther it shows the trap at $40 in excellent condition. Guess I should pay better attention next time. LOL

I do have 2 #14's. I took a look at them this morning.

One has P, P & Keystone other has P, P, P & Keystone stamped on dog frame.
Are these from the Pennsylvania Game Commission?
