Gnats are bad here too this year.

The same ones that hang around a dogs pecker. They fly in your ears and in your face, and dang hard to kill. And no, a shower don't help, you don't catch them, they catch you!

Mid to late June is deerfly time here in Pa. I’d rather take 10 stings from my honey bees than get bit by a deerfly. When one of them lock on to your location, it’s only gonna end one of two ways. Either you kill it, or it’s gonna bite you. They don’t lose interest and go away.

I was on the quad yesterday checking trail cams. The deer flies were everywhere, but couldn’t stay up with the quad. Had I broke down...they would have eaten me alive.

No black flies here, but we lack for them, we more than make up for with no-see-ums, chiggers, many species of ticks, saltwater mosquitoes, deer flies, yellow headed flies, horse flies, and that ankle biting fly on the beach what looks like a house fly, and is unkillable because when you look at what is biting your ankle, it flies away as soon as it sees your face.
