I have read quite a bit about the disease, just wondering what others have experienced with their dogs. One of my squirrel dogs is suspected to have it. The vet hasn’t taken a muscle sample but the dog is showing all the symptoms and the treatment is working. Apparently coyotes get it too.

Short term we used steroids and antibiotics. This got him back to being his old self. As we are looking long term we are going to try to find the lowest dose of steroids that will keep the inflammation down and mix Deccox in with his food every day for his lifetime.
