My MFA residency is winding to a close, and tonight there was a social event costume party and talent show.
No one had real costumes on. They were all wearing goofy or amusing hats. (No Klan or NAZI hats though.)
So I went and put on my beaver hat, which I had made from a big beaver I caught about a dozen years back.
I don't know if y'all know how Zoom works. I didn't before this residency. The host sets up a virtual room, and sends invitation links to the participants. Whoever is speaking at the time shows up on a big screen, and the others are on little screens.
Anyway, someone asked what kind of hat it was, and I told them. My hat appeared on the big screen in all its glory. Then there came a voice from the background: "Oh. Someone's wearing a fur hat..." And then all was silent.
It's funny how we are defined by the company we're with at the time. I'm rapidly becoming known as the conservative at Stonecoast, where most are what I'd call far left.

Now James: Surely your parents warned you that birds of a feather......... Quit associating with folks of that ilk. For Heaven's sake, you should know better!
Just doing what I want now.

Remember James, a liberal slant is about the subjective = feelings/ how I feel about that You're turning into a conservative will only irritate them when you try to use logic/fact. Liberals are not at all interested in 2 + 2 = 4 (logic) If they feel 2 is 4 or 4 is 2, well then it is. Or you're a beaver hat wearing XcXH### racist!!!!!
I'll prayer you come out unscathed.
Blessings Mark

I felt like I'd farted into the microphone or something.
After a while I took the hat off because it's so warm. I've worn that hat outside in -20 weather and had my head get hot.

Little precious commies. Cut their power for about 10 days straight so their phones drain completely and they have no internet access, and we'll see how bossy they are then. Give them another 20 days without juice and we'll see if they're not eating animals caught by trappers...
