I can stand alot of heat and humidity, I just can't figure out how you guys trap around them "freakin snakes " down there. No way, not for me Our snakes serve a purpose. I agree They keep us yankees where we belong !

No way, not for me This got me thinking, we learn from a real early age how to watch for snakes and to avoid places they’re likely to hide. My son turns 6 this weekend and we’ve been teaching him this over the summer. Never really thought about it being a learned behavior. Something else that’s weird down here is the ticks. I spent 12 weeks in Virginia last spring, and the folks warned everyone about ticks. If you got one on you they suggested that you go to the medical staff to get on antibiotics! The folks from areas that don’t have them were scared to death! I was like, guys, I literally pull a tick a week off me in the summertime, it’s not a big deal. Of course I missed one a few years ago and got a case of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever as a result, but it all worked out after some meds. See what I mean? Our younguns learn to pay attention early on.

Work all day in this humidity without a little corn starch and you'll be walking like you're bow legged at the end of the day. My brother was crossing the border at International Falls to go fishing. Customs guy checking his trunk grabs a zip lock bag with white powder in it. He says what have we got here? As he opens the bag, puts his finger in it, then licks his finger and puts it to his nose. My brother answered, "that's corn starch, I put it on my butt when it's hot to keep from getting galled. Didn't take the guy long to throw the bag back in the trunk and wipe his fingers off! Carry on!

I can't believe I just read a 2 page post about sweaty balls. Happy Birthday ! Hang on, in 6 months it will be about how many hand warmers it takes to prevent shortening in the tree stand.

Never herd of a southerner retiring in the north. I'm thinking about it. What makes you think you're not already there? Anything north of the Tennessee line is suspect to me.

Warrior, anything north of about montgomery is suspect to me.
North and south alabama folks are two different breeds. You can go to far south in florida and you end up back in yankee territory.

Work all day in this humidity without a little corn starch and you'll be walking like you're bow legged at the end of the day. You can go the uptown route and get some "monkey butt" powder. Just flavored-up corn starch in a fancy shaker can.
