Could be coming to a place near you soon. If it already isn't being implemented without your knowledge yet........

05:39. Basically; 'This system ~ which law abiding people have no reason to fear ~ collects masses of data on the residents of this block. But, I'm afraid I can't disclose to you what, or what we do with it.' eek

Gotta love a bit of Communism!

Anybody remember the TV series The Machine?

I watched about a quarter of it and found it fascinating. Then I thought about the law and order programs we’ve watched on PBS and Netflix. Almost all the European cop shows go to area video cameras to find out if someone went somewhere. I’ve read there are over 100,000 cameras watching people in London. European cities are dotted with them too. Big cities in America are relying more and more on video monitoring of buses, trains, tunnels, traffic monitoring, video systems in stores, etc. China and Japan are not alone.

When I was living in China, ALL people had to bring their own toilet paper with them if they had to use any store or restaurant restroom. Having an automatic toilet paper robot doesn’t stop anyone from bringing their own. And in fact providing toilet paper for the shear volume of those using public restrooms is really different and is not normal at all.

It’s a different world now compared to even 5 years ago. China has changed significantly. America doesn’t lead the world to a great extent anymore and we have to get used to it.
