My advice is to help farmers bale hay in your area. You'll pick up money, more land then you can trap and be in really good shape for trapping season.

I've picked up lots of private land to trap by trapping gophers, skunks, woodchucks and other nuisance animals for neighbors. Once they see how responsible you are then the doors start to open up by telling their friends and family and before long you have plenty of places to trap. Just be polite and do your best not to catch their dog or mama's favorite cat!
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.
