How you run a business with all this open/closed/ cancel/ re-book/ be prepared for cancel/ maybe they can come/ maybe not/ jobs on/ no jobs delayed/ waiting on the gubmint/ subject to change?

How do you commit to a job for one outfit then it's cancelled and the job you turned down is filled and you commit to another that is delayed or cancelled? Why bother?

frown

BTW " the right to earn a living " is the Constitutional right that is being violated.

About 1500 deaths in Mn. over 1100 in nursing homes and long term care, average age 83. If I was in a home I would welcome the virus, put me out of my misery. It seems that Walz feels the same way as he was the one responsible for infecting these homes. All shuttered businesses should not have to pay property taxes or license fees and layoffs should begin now in all Gov. sectors.

Them shuttered business won't have to pay property taxes, they'll be broke. I'd put a lol at the end but it's not funny.

They shouldn't only cut government employees but also cut future pensions and pensions disbursements of currently retired government employees.

There is a new killer flu every few years. This one no worse than any of those and not near as deadly as several. All this social distancing close your business wear a mask is about teaching and getting people to be compliant. Free people scare those who seek totalitarian government.

We live in one of the most free countries in the world but we have allowed the government to far over reach the intent of our founding fathers by a long ways. And much of that over reach has been done in the name of protecting us from ourselves. Very few things are left that do not require permission from the government. Just think about all of the licenses we have to buy. They are really permission slips from big brother.

So, if the restaurant decides that they will ignore the restrictions placed on them by the government, they lose their permission slip and are out of business. If they try to continue without the permission slip, they can wind up in jail.

We had a local race track open up in the midst of the rona a few weeks ago in spite of our governors Executive Order limiting large gatherings. The Sheriff of the county refused to enforce the EO, saying it was vague and questioning the constitutionality of it. The track had a capacity crowd show up and it was all over the news. Got the governors attention for sure. They held another race with a nice crowd in attendance after the governor contacted the Sheriff, the track management and local officials about his concerns.

But rather than sending in the State Highway Patrol or Nation Guard to confront the business owner and race fans, the Governor had the Secretary of Health and Human Services petition the Courts to have the speedway shut down as a public health hazard. No more racing!

We have not only allowed this to happen but for the most part have encouraged it in the name of safety and security.

The China Flu is for real no doubt. But it has been vastly exaggerated. Fear tactics.

To prove so just for your info the flu outbreak in 1969 (H3N2) killed over 100,000 with the US population of 208 million vs the China Flu that as you state 135,000 with population of 330 million.

We'll have to see a total death count of 214,000 to equal the '69 flu.
Thats if you accept the obviously inflated death count of the current China Flu. Dr. Birx stated that she feels that the death count is inflated as high as 25%.

Add that into account and out current total is really closer to 101,000 or about the same as '69 with approx 60% bigger population.

No school closures, no business closing, life went on as normal in '69, why do we cower in fear in 2020?

All the protesting crowds didn't have any effect on spreading the virus, but bars and restaurants do? I suppose if they admitted the protests did spread the virus, they would be called racist. Can't have that. Maybe too many of the protesters hit the bars for a "cold one" and they are the ones that spread the virus. After all, in this hot weather, protesting is hot work.

May want to reassess how you feel about those numbers........
we have 5-600 000ish confirmed covid deaths........ Globally currently

What did you and your family and friends do in 2009???? lol cause i had H1N1 and none of our lives were effected except the couple weeks i was sick. AND IT WAS WAY DEADLIER

"Additionally, CDC estimated that 151,700-575,400 people worldwide died from (H1N1)pdm09 virus infection during the first year the virus circulated.** Globally, 80 percent of (H1N1)pdm09 virus-related deaths were estimated to have occurred in people younger than 65 years of age. "

Pretty fun math, Covid is on track to be 150X less deadly in a year.

Last night a buddy and I went out to eat while waiting in line to order a 20 something yo Karen rudely tells my buddy he needs to wear his mask because it's the law. She turns to me and tells me I need wear mine properly because of the law. I quickly told her the law exempts me because of health reasons. I've never seen anyone shut up and turn around so quickly. Hahaha. laugh she got her order and flew out of the restaurant like in the cartoons, where only a body figure dust/smoke cloud remains where they stood and a body shaped hole in the door

Ouananiche,
Can you explain the math where you say 150x less deadly? Even at the high estimate of 575000 h1n1 deaths worldwide, there would have to roughly 4000 (3833) covid deaths worldwide to be 150 times less deadly.

I’m not saying a restaurant shouldn’t be able to stay open with certain occupancy rules at this point with customers and employeees alike having the ability to stay away if they choose, I’m just not seeing your math. If

He also refused to activate the National Guard due to the rioting, vandalism, and looting until most of damage had been done. It took Trump to tell him if he didn't do something Trump would send in troops.

Hopefully, people will remember what a pathetic governor he has been at the next election and get rid of the moron.

Very good post, Harold. We have complained about all the new load of crap through the years, but that's all we have done. We should have been in their face at every turn, but we have jobs and family to take care of, so WE have allowed this to happen. We need to get much more vocal and in their face to even remotely get back what freedoms we have lost.

Never heard of so many heath reasons not to wear masks. So many people play this card it makes nonbelievers out of most mask wearers.
