There is such a big deal being made about names of teams, stadiums and other crap, which I am not in favor of... but there is one change that should started immediately.....

I believe that no team, of any kind, be it football, basketball or marbles; including high school, college and professional, should be allowed to have on their roster any race of player, by number, than the per cent of that race in these United States. That way, no one can say any one race is being favored over another. If any race of people reject the idea, let none of that race participate in any sports.

I am sure this will stir up some emotions, but I will also recommend, a specific number of seats in each stadium, be designated as a crying and whimpering zone and that only those wishing to whimper and cry are permitted in such area.

What say you?

So, if Japanese make up 5% of the US population, then 5% of the players on any/every football team need to be Japanese.

Is that what you are proposing? Just trying to clarify your suggestion. Not looking for a fight.

Thanks

That is how I understood it yes.

If affirmative action is good for both blue and white collar industries then how could it not improve professional sports?

I do not see anything good coming out of Pro-sports. Most sports are out of my life, I could care less about them. JMO

I feel we need to kick most professional sports to the curb and promote the original American extreme sport Rodeo there's already folks of color competing there besides white so race isn't much of a problem or shouldn't be .

Even the PBR " Professional Bull Riders is another professional sport to promote there's a wide variety of nationalities there also problem solved.

I'm going to get another glass of ice tea and sit back to watch the boo hoo'rs cuss this idea ha ha !

What happens if there is a tenth of a percent? Do we start chopping people up, or look for the proper heritage percentage. This is gonna get confusing!

By the same token is it my fault if I am more qualified for an open position or promotion?

I don't think it's a matter of work ethic. Black people are just better at sports, for the most part, this is why I'm being sarcastic with my remarks. I don't agree with Actor (we can have differing opinions and still be civil) whosoever is the best person for the job should get it, we all gripe about a minority taking a job due to affirmative action, so let's not be hypocritical.

They would most likely go in the" Other" Column. To be fair they would have to use the same standard the Government does for asking race questions on the Census records. There was a gang, gaggle, herd whatever you want to call them around the country, starting in Texas, I believe that weren't going to play football this year, if they didn't rename the stadium and a whole list of other things to suit their fancy. So I figure while everyone has to change things to baby one group, let's make everything fair for everyone. Like the old saying, "It doesn't matter if we win or lose the game," yada, yada, yada.

Anyway, I didn't say anything about, black or white people... Just trying to even the playing field. It doesn't bother me much about people complaining about something, when they have something valid to complain about. If someone is giving you a $75,000, or more, scholarship.... you have nothing to complain about, do your job and SHUT-UP!

Garry-

I heard they may want to race at Eldora and Terre Haute Action Track. That sure would be fun to see. I wonder if they would let Jack Hewitt participate. I bet he would wax them all on the dirt tracks. Anyways, I hope they get some of the short track drivers in addition to the big names.

I saw IndyCar racer James Davison running a sprint car on a 1/4 mile high bank asphalt last night. He did pretty good for a European, rear-engine, road course driver. Love to see race drivers drive on different kinds of tracks and cars.

Robbie Gordon
Tony Stewart
A.J. Foyt
Mario Andretti

Those guys could and did win in any kind of car on any kind of track.

In keeping with Actor's theme, they should be required to have representatives from dirt ovals, off-road trucks, stock cars, formula cars, sports cars, even drag racing. I'm sure Doug Kalitta could keep up since he is a former USAC National Midget champion.
