I have some traps with no chain and I’m wondering if instead of paying shipping and the whole nine yards could I go to tractor supply or the hardware store and buy chain? Any help is appreciated

At tax they have #2 straight lion chain for $2.00/ft $2/foot? FNT has it at $0.65/foot for select quality. I’d pay the shipping... unless you only need a foot or two. Weigh out the cost of shipping to how many feet of chain you need. Do the math and see what would be cheaper for you.

For the amount I need I don’t mind buying it here it will cost as much as shipping would cost maybe less

I've used chain bought locally. I don't think I paid 2 bucks for it. You might need the swivels. Tsc might not have that though. Order both, package deal.

Typically, you will find better prices from trapping supply dealers on the typical chain and fastening hardware needed for traps. You may find some small local places that are competitive but the big box stores are outrageously expensive on things like chain and quick links. And, as someone else mentioned, you need other items like J hooks and swivels that the big box stores do not have anyway.
If you have a local trap supply place, support them. If not, pick one of the online places and stock up on supplies and tools you can not get locally.
