You have seen my 2002 Z71 in many tailgate shots. I just bought a new GMC Sierra but kept old white with 249,000 miles on it because I need a truck that I am not afraid to go to work in. That truck will last along time. I would recommend synthetic oil in it. Should be able to get some good tailgate shots of your own now, LLL

I'm a chevy guy had both used and new and they have all treated me good. But don't know if them chevys can do what a Toyota can do. They all get out standing fuel mileage even towing, and last 800,000 miles. In fact one guy i know says he don't ever need a mechanic, his never breaks down. I just life by and use what i like, ive broke them before and they have all broke me. Ford's, dodge's and Chevrolet. Good luck with the chevy

Looks like a nice find. I'd like to find a truck of that vintage and mileage from a State that doesn't use or uses very little snow melting products on the roads. I'll bet it would be worth the cost of getting it home. That's usually the problem here. Plenty of snow. Especially those Toyotas. I found one that had 130,000 miles on it was a 2002 they still wanted 8k for it. I was interested until I went to see it. Rusting almost all the way through the frame. I doubt I'd made it through a season before I was sitting with half the truck on the ground. They knew about it. I knew the price was too good to be true. This one came with a Kansas title so I'm hoping it was far enough south it stayed out of the heavy salt. Either way I should be able to get enough use out of it to make it worth it. Just going to drive it till it doesn't go anymore. Surprisingly the computer doesn't appear to have issues yet either I know from past experiences with friend's trucks from that era that Chevy seemed to have a lot of issues with the gauges and windows.

Wade I've had very good luck with my GM trucks.
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I had an '03 GMC I put 260,000 on. Replaced front wheel bearings and a fuel pump on it. Otherwise, just standard maintenance, brakes, tires and such. It was a great truck.

I have drove toyota's since 1985 nothing else I bought a chevy Colorado zr2 I think it will out do anything newer than toyota 87. I think they had straight axles until independent front end after that was ,, as I have felt putting a limitation on them .front and rear lockers in snow in certain types are a plus and getting better gas mileage is a plus also. So will see this winter how it does

I’m glad you are still in the game! That truck will make some great tailgate shots... I won't have to let you out of the passenger side either! A door that works... ha.

Good find, I hope it treats you well.
GMC and Chevy were making good, long-lasting trucks around the turn of the century.
One of my work trucks is a 3/4 ton 2000 GMC cargo van with 150,000+ miles. I've owned it from new and it has been very reliable. Other than a fuel pump, distributor and new shocks it has only ever taken routine maintenance.
The frame and original exhaust are in great shape unlike my 2008 Tundra which is starting to rust away...
Eh...wot?

I bought those as company trucks for years and none went less than 280k before any big issues. I have one of the last ones still at the northern camp that rusted out but still runs super at nearly 600k. You may consider a good aftermarket under coating?
