AirportTrapper OP trapper Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 1,513 Louisiana	I've trapped lots of turtles in ponds , bayous and lakes but am fixing to start on the river. Any advice locations? If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

Trapper7 trapper T Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 15,734 MN, Land of 10,000 Lakes	I've trapped turtles in the Mississippi river. Stay out of the current; trap the backwaters. You will have better luck. Set the traps fairly shallow so as not to drown any turtles. Watch the weather; if rain, pull traps. Check the traps every day. The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.
