I miss the ocean. Only been there a few times, but I still miss it.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Do you have a female assistant?
I do. You grabbing the crabs with those chimp toes?? No, we have the standard wire dipping net. I miss the ocean. Only been there a few times, but I still miss it. That would be the Nanticoke River. I’d rather be on the shore there than the ocean beach.

How long do you soak traps there- will there be crab for supper? We don’t use traps. We walk a trotline. Water there is only about rib high. They will not be dinner tonight, we are stock piling for the upcoming vacation. There, they will stuff flounder, be turned into crab cakes, crab dip, crab roll and top ribeyes on the last night.

How does the trotline work? Here is a pic my son sent an hour ago. Crabbing on Cherry Point Marine Base with some buddies.

How does the trotline work? With my current restrictions, it is much easier to walk the line then using traps or lines from a pier that requires bending Or stooping.

Here’s some dumb questions for you, cuz I’ve never harvested crabs. 1. Those look small. What part is edible? 2. What do you do with the remaining parts? 3. Does any of it go tho trapping bait? 4. From a traut line, I’ll assume they bite a bait and get hooked. Am I seeing this right?
Thanks in advance

Here’s some dumb questions for you, cuz I’ve never harvested crabs. 1. Those look small. What part is edible? They have to be “shelled”. We separate claw meat, backfin and crawler leg meat (backfin and crawler meat is in the body and not the actual legs) 2. What do you do with the remaining parts? Remaining parts are discarded. They deteriorate fast and stink quick. There is better bait options on the market. 3. Does any of it go tho trapping bait? ^^^^^^^ 4. From a traut line, I’ll assume they bite a bait and get hooked. Am I seeing this right? No hooks, they hang on to the bait until they get to the surface where you are waiting with the dip net.
Thanks in advance
