Don't shoot them if you help it. Most times even with a perfect textbook shot , they will still spray.
Tube trap is a good way to go.

Had an uncle who filled in the hole, the skunks must of unloaded before they expired. They spent thousands to try to have the smell diluted from their house, to no avail, in the end they had to move out of their house for the summer. So don't do that, that is the worst method, anything after that should be a step up. I would buy one or 2 of these "Spray Proof Skunk Trap" personally. Good luck!

Haven't you run across them while trapping? Our skunk numbers are thin and localized. You might have one area with a good number of them but then have to go two counties over to find more of them.

I've always caught any I wanted in a cage trap. 5-6 in my life. They cage trap easily. Slow and no threatening moves will allow you to tarp . I relocate to a distant area of the property and then dispatch. I'm sure someone has PM'd a dispatch message to you by now. But if not, holler.

I have heard that waiting till they are OUT of the den, then pouring a bunch of amonium down the hole will keep them out, the amonium burns their nose so they relocate, but I've never tried it. Dennis
